Craig dropped by today to pick up a digital file for a project that he is working on. We chatted for a few minutes. He mentioned that his dogs were waiting in the Jeep. I walked him out to his car to visit his dogs and to retrieve the mail. Upon greeting the dogs, I had a "Kodak" epiphany and limped back into the house to grab my little Olympus Pen (I love that camera).
Did I mention limp? I have a herniated disc that is preventing me from enjoying the fine weather here in Central Florida. Pain meds, bed rest, and Netflix have been about all that I have had contact with over the past couple of days. Ouch! It hurts to sit up and type. Enjoy the snapshots. I hope Craig does not mind. I forgot to get model releases from him and the dogs. Visitors beware; I am armed and dangerous with a camera.

Cooper (canine) and Craig (human) went for a ride on their Harley last Sunday.

Craig rigged one of his old camera bags with a special doggie harness. Craig knows how to tie exotic knots, fasten oddball objects to irregularly shaped items, survive in the woods for extended periods, live on bark and bugs, and shoot an arrow with deadly accuracy. Do not worry; his dog is safe.

On removing plastic tags from bandanas: Oblivious. I like the idea of a lone plastic tag blowing in the breeze on the tail of a bandana wrapped around the head of a man seated on a hog with his wiener dog enjoying a Sunday drive.

Daphne is a calm and dignified German Shepherd. Tiger Lily, like many Yorkshire Terriers, is a firecracker. They have been cohabitating with their humans, a young married couple, for over three years. Daphne defers many important doggie decisions to her little friend, Miss Tiger Lily. They are complementary dogs.

The possibility of having complementary dogs for pets is intriguing. My fantasy is to cohabitate with a Great Dane and a shorthaired dachshund. Dog behaviorists regard Dachshunds as aggressive and GDs as docile. My hunch is that both canines, while opposite in stature and demeanor, will likely get along as well as the abovementioned Shepherd and Yorkie.
The big challenge to making this dream become a reality is my wife of nearly twenty years, Sara. She does not "get it." She is moderate while I am extreme. Complementary we are indeed!

We have all noted how dogs and their owners often resemble each other. Take for example the glamorous woman with flowing blond hair donning a fur coat alongside her sleek Afghan Hound or the shriveled up old man with his scrawny little grey mutt.
Sometimes, we observe the opposite — neither the dog nor the owner resembles each other. For example, Aaron Hendry and his dog Huey, AKA "Master Hubert," have little in common other than they both have two ears, two eyes, a nose, and a mouth.

Aaron is a former marine, a competitive amateur body-builder, and a certified personal trainer. Huey competes in the Teacup Yorkshire Terrier Cuteness Pageant; he weighs in at three and a half pounds.
Kidding aside, Aaron is my personal trainer, and he is excellent at his job. I tend to get along well with people that are passionate and conscientious about their work. He is that and more. His people skills are top notch, as I have observed him train all types — big, small, old, young, male and female. He knows how to motivate his clients and how to help them set and accomplish realistic fitness goals.
When I first started training with Aaron over a year ago, I asked him if he liked dogs. He mentioned they had a Pit Bull and a Yorkie. I raised an eyebrow. "The Yorkie was my wife's idea," he explained, "I had misgivings at first, but that didn't last so long. Master Hubert is a great dog…"
With the help of his wife, Billie, I finally persuaded Aaron to pose with Huey at the gym where he works, Debs Gym, 1052 E Memorial Blvd, Lakeland, Fla.

Aaron loves to clown around with Huey. They complement each other rather well. They are good pals.
